The earliest known paintings are at least 35,000 years old, whereas the oldest known archaeological fragments of the immediate precursor to modern paper date to the 2nd century BC. What a great development, considering the relative immobility of cave paintings!
Paper changed our lives: the way we record and retrieve information, pay for goods and services, kill time during – and clean up after – a visit to the bathroom. We wrap things in it, filter coffee through it, build furniture with it or doodle on it. And if we add a little felt, a belt and some magnets, paper can provide a soothingly analogue home for your electronic devices and a canvas for your artistic expression.
The creative enterprise Paper Pleasure, located near Lake Ammer in Germany, showcase the amazing versatility of paper through an array of beautiful and useful products and in some particularly impressive instances, they illustrate what you can do with them: they have turned virgin Papernomads into unique pieces of art.
Everyone is an artist and so are you. Please send us your pictures of your own masterpiece and share their story with us. We are looking forward to seeing many more Papernomads to receive the creative affection they were designed for.
